Clean fabrics with a warm water and mild soap solution using a soft brush. Brush the fabric gently until the soil is removed, then rinse with cool water and dry. Most mildew arises from bacteria growing on surface soil and can be prevented by keeping the fabric clean. Remove mild mildew stains as soon as they appear with a 4 to 1 mixture of water and household ammonia. Brush with a soft brush then rinse thoroughly with cool water.
To clean straps, use a solution of mild detergent and water. Avoid abrasive cleansers. To enhance appearance, wax or spray with a commercial vinyl cleaner. Suntan oils and lotions may permanently stain vinyl straps. Bleach can be used but must be thoroughly rinsed.
