Without a ceiling, rafters and the underside of the roof decking will be exposed. If Cedar Shingles are selected, the underside of the shingles will be visible from inside the structure. If asphalt or rubber slate shingles (or no shingles) are chosen, the underside of either a cedar or pine Tongue and Groove roof decking will be seen from the inside of the structure. The appearance is similar to the finished ceiling, but the roof decking is attached to the top of the rafters instead of the bottom, leaving the beams visible. Features:- Roof Decking matches the structure's material, except Vinyl which uses pine.
- Exposed rafters are either cedar or pine.
- Cedar gazebos 12’ wide or larger require pine rafters for strength.
- 1x3 furring strips are added (8” on center) with Cedar shingles in place of the Tongue and Groove roof decking.
